It is rather bizarre to see so much discussion about roundabouts. Over here we hardly notice them. Interesting cultural comparison.

If people yield properly, rotaries (that's what we call 'em up here in New England) work okay in light usage. Once you start getting traffic volume, though, they tend to get "stuck" with one road entering and everyone else having to wait forever, and/or force a lot of stop-and-go entering.
