Why'd you have to bring politics into this discussion? LOL

It's "give way to the left" over here.

"Give way to the right", that's all we have to remember. Although we have
mini-roundabouts too. They get the lesser lights of the UK a bit confused.

I like them myself, but they engender so much confusion over here. You can
generally tell the locals who have adjusted to them from the people from the
other side of town who are trying to remember what the rules are from the
driving test they took 20 years ago are.

The locals are waving their arms screaming GO GO GO it's your turn GO ....

It is rather bizarre to see so much discussion about roundabouts. Over here we
hardly notice them. Interesting cultural comparison.

Perfect depiction.

You should see the roundabout they put in up in Arcata by HSU, can't tell if
its meditation, medication or oblivion but the phenomena is about the same :)

Out here in California we have these awesome new Yield and Stop signs.

The new improved yield signs are Octaganol, red and say 'Stop' but many seem to
think that is merely a suggestion.
The new improved stop signs are Triangular, red and white and say 'Yield'.
Many people seem to think this is an opertunity to halt forward motion and
meditate on this strange object while trying to figure out if it's their turn
to go or not.

Or at least that they follow the rules. Most people don't seem to
know what a "Yield" sign means.

If people yield properly, rotaries (that's what we call 'em up here
in New England) work okay in light usage. Once you start getting
traffic volume, though, they tend to get "stuck" with one road
entering and everyone else having to wait forever, and/or force a lot
of stop-and-go entering.

 Then there's this thing:

 You go first.
