Hello Randy, I'm not sure how you've decided that houdini costs the same as Nuke, but last I checked houdini cost $9,995USD + 40% Annual support (for a floating license of Houdini Master).

The other thing to keep in mind that this 'situation' (in truth, this isn't the first time that a supplier has decided to adjust their pricing), will in fact create opportunities for other vendors. That's the beauty of this free market system. HUGE VC companies expect growth because VC money is put in by people expecting big returns. VS small company that needs less profits to remain viable. VFX profits falling so soon if trend continues only people that can afford nuke are big companies. Maya cost less then nuke. think about that. Houdini cost the same as nuke. I find it super hard to believe that the cost to produce Nuke is the same as the cost to produce Houdini.
