Hey,

I wrote a simple xyz reader for lidar files a while back. The thing is even as a plugin nuke would slow down dramatically at around 400k points, which is kind of useless having a full scan with 40 Million. Since we dont use the plugin, maybe I can get my employers to opensource it. Having said this, here comes a shameless plug: we also offer lidar scanning services: http://pointcloud9.com/

Cheers

Sebastian

somewhat related... anyone ever seen, or is there, a reasonably priced lidar
scanner other then the costly industrial variety ? For smaller projects.

thx,

Hi,

Anyone has any idea of how to generate a point cloud in Nuke from CSV files
from a Lidar scanner?

I could parse the CSV files and generate one Axis for each point, but Nuke
would most likely implode half-way trough the first file.

Thanks in advance.

cheers,
diogo
