        Thanks for the reply Kevin....

        I just want to add 3 things:

- that ORiNOCO was bought out by Proxim... so when you shop for that gear,
look for Proxim.

- be aware that many pci-wireless adapters only will work with that brand.
If you want true universal capabilities, get a pcmcia bridge, such as the
ORiNOCO PCI or ISA card. Then you can put any wireless card in it.

- Linksys has a few good products (WAP11 and WET11), I recommend you stay
away from their combo devices though (router + AP). For that older Mac IIx,
I recommend you get a Linksys WET11 which acts as a wireless DHCP client
device, so all you need is an Ethernet port to add wireless capabilities to
it.
