Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge (MNWR) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex (MWC)
------------

     The ROSEATE SPOONBILL and the WOOD STORK have continued all week at 
Knox-Marsellus Marsh. A BLACK-BELLIED WHISTLING DUCK showed up at 
Knox-Marsellus on 7/26 and a second on 8/1. At least one is still being seen up 
to today.
     7/27: A PROTHONOTARY WARBLER was seen on Towpath Road. 6 shorebird species 
including 8 SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHERS were seen at Railroad Road Marsh in the 
northern complex.
     7/29: A RED-NECKED PHALAROPE was seen at Knox-Marsellus thru 7/30.  A 
BAIRD’S SANDPIPER was seen at Knox-Marsellus through 8/1.
     7/30: A CATTLE EGRET was found at Knox-Marsellus and continues up to today.
     8/1: 7 shorebird species including LONG-BILLED DOWITCHER were seen from 
Towpath Road.
     8/2: A PROTHONOTARY WARBLER continues at the forested area of Armitage 
Road.


Cayuga County
------------

     8/1: A RED-HEADED WOODPECKER continues at Fair Haven State Park.


Oswego County
------------

     7/31: An ORCHARD ORIOLE was seen at Hinman Road north of Pulaski.
     8/1: 11 shorebird species PIPING PLOVER, RUDDY TURNSTONE adn WHITE-RUMPED 
SANDPIPER were seen at the Sandy Pond Outlet.
     8/2: A BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON and 12 SANDERLING were seen at the Sandy 
Pond Outlet.


Onondaga County
------------

     7/27: A GRASSHOPPER SPARROW was seen at Cedar Bay Park in Fayetteville.
     7/28: 2 SANDHILL CRANES continue at East Mud Lake Road west of 
Baldwinsville.
     7/29: A LEAST BITTERN was seen on the West Shore trail of Onondaga Lake.
     7/30: 6 BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HAWKS were seen on the Onondaga Creek Creek 
Walk near Destiny.
     8/1: A COMMON NIGHTHAWK was seen at Leavenworth Park in Syracuse.


Madison County
------------

     7/27: 2 RED-HEADED WOODPECKERS were seen at the Great Swamp Conservancy 
north of Canastota.
     7/29: A LEAST BITTERN was found at the Great Swamp Conservancy.
     7/31: 2 SANDHILL CRANES were seen from the Thruway east of Kirkville.


Oneida County
------------

     8/1: A BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER was seen and photographed in the Black 
River Wild forest north of Woodgate.
