Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge (MNWR) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex (MWC)
------------

     The ROSEATE SPOONBILL and the WOOD STORK have continued throught the week 
up to and including today at Knox-Marsellus Marsh.
     8/11: A LITTLE BLUE HERON was seen at Knox-Marsellus Marsh.
     8/13: One WILSON’S PHALAROPE and and two RED-NECKED PHALAROPES were seen 
at Knox-Marsellus.
     8/14: A STILT SANDPIPER and both DOWITCHERS were seen at the Thruway Pools.
     8/15: A PROTHONOTARY WARBLER and a BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER were seen from 
Towpath Road.
     8/16: A WILSON’S PHALAROPE, a YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER and a WILSON’S 
WARBLER were seen from Towpath Road.


Cayuga County
------------

     8/16: 2 RED-HEADED WOODPECKERS were seen at Fair Haven State Park.


Onondaga County
------------

      8/14: A WILSON’S PHALAROPE was seen on the Marshy Spits of Onondaga Lake 
on the west shore. Also seen were RUDDY TURNSTONE, SANDERLING, DUNLIN and 
SEMI-PALMATED PLOVER.


Oswego County
------------

     One PIPING PLOVER (juvenile) continues at the Sandy Pond Outlet on Lake 
Ontario.
     8/11: A WILLET and a BLACK TERN were seen at the Sandy Pond Outlet. The 
WILLET was seen up to today.
     8/14: A RED-NECKED PHALAROPE and 2 RUDDY TURNSTONES were seen at the Sandy 
Pond Outlet.
     8/15: 16 Shorebird species including SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER, 5 
WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPERS, 3 BAIRD’S SANDPIPERS, 10 SANDERLINGS, 6 RED KNOTS, the 
afore mentioned PIPING PLOVER and 1 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER were all found at the 
Sandy Pond Outlet. A YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER and a CAPE MAY WARBLER were seen 
on Baum Road in Hastings. The CAPE MAY WARBLER was spotted again today.


Madison County
------------

     8/15: A BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER was seen at the Sky High Sod Farm on 
Lakeport Road north of Chittenango.


Oneida County
------------

     8/15: A RED-HEADED WOODPECKER continues on Lakeshore Road on Oneida Lake 
north of Sylvan Beach.
     8/16: A juvenile NORTHERN GOSHAWK was spotted on State Dam Road in 
Forestport.


Herkimer County
------------
     8/10: Six species of shorebirds including SEMI-PALMATED PLOVER were seen 
at the McKoons Road Wetland north of Richfield Springs.
     8/15: A SWAINSON’S THRUSH was seen at Cascade Lake north of Inlet. A 
PRAIRIE WARBLER was seen at Salisbury Corners north of Middleville.
