Refreshing to hear. Tessa decided to change her surname when we got married & she has at least a dozen domain names to change registrant on as an upshot. Probably be faster to get webdrive to do them en-mass than sod around moving everything to another registrar. > > Not sure about other registrars. But I think it is usually the same. It isn't entirely the registrars fault, the DNC has a mission to protect the legitimate rights of registrants and their "policies" (regulations) require the registrars to be very careful when changing registrant. I haven't seen any registrars that go beyond a legitimate interpretation of the relevant policy. Some are more cautious than others, but AFIK there is no "case law" on the change of registrant policy as it affects registrars. > Bit tricky when you are relying on a possibly disgruntled 3rd party to sign > off on it. Trust me, it's sometimes tricky when you have a happy third party to deal with. Until they experience something akin to what happened to Harvey's customer most end users don't understand why they need to be the registrant of record for their domain names and a lot of them drag their heels on the transfer. I find this weird as they wouldn't leave any other valuable business asset nominally owned by a third party.
