Yeah, I liked my Shimano SPDs but the soles cracked.  I am now using
Look(alike) pedals and it is taking some getting used to.  

Particularly not liking clicking around in the halls on my way to the
showers at work in the a.m. and I do find the one-sidedness means I have
to pay a little more attention when clipping back in after stopping.

On the other hand, they have a bigger platform and lots of side-to-side
play (which is good for my knees, I think).

I`ve kept the SPDs for the relatively few MTB miles I usually put on in
the fall.
