Thanks to everyone for the suggestions -- what a supportive group! But,
I think I will try to find a pair that fit rather than messing around
with heel pads.
I wish I could still find a pair like my first Diadoras that had 100%
leather uppers. Those did fit snug at first, but broke in to the point
that they were like a second skin. The fact that they had laces was a
bonus for fit as well. I`m still not sold on the fancier closures since
they seem to require pretty standard shaped feet (quack!). I imagine
that if you can find leather shoes now, you`d pay big $.
I`ll see if the swap proposed by Norman works out. If not, I`ll let the
ones I have go free to a good home as soon as I can find replacements.
