Richardson and Plano is the center of the Cycling universe in north Texas,
the Richardson Bike Mart is what makes it all happen,
they are a huge store with several fast rides leaving on Saturday and
Sunday. If you ever read Lance Armstrongs book he mentions this
store and his relationship with its owner Jim Hoyte, great guy and really
nice people.
If in the area you can rent decent bikes and join in on the fun.

Nothing like this in Ottawa, it's at least 10 times the size of Pecos.

Check out the Vets racing in Quebec (*). See
http://members.tripod.com/acvq (beware of stupid popups from the site
though). The ACVQ races are well organized and the Vet's tend not to
take stupid chances. The only downside is the number of trips you'll
have to make to Montreal during the season.

Cycling in Dallas TX -- I didn't even think _that_ was possible :-).
To be fair though, I never got the chance to really get outside of
Richardson the times I've been down

(*) Assuming that you are a vet. Vet A is 35 and up.
