Most times unless you have a movement sensor installed in the car, only
then will the alarm go off. I know that in Toyota's if the window is
smashed, and the door is not opened, then the car alarm will not
activate, I think that most of the criminals know about this latent
defect.................

my passanger window was also smashed and the alarm did not sound.
i subsequently contacted my dealer to enquire this and was told that
very
few vehicles have an alarm that triggers with a broken window.
apparently
something to do with the sensor having to be placed in a strategic spot.

when this became a topic of conversation at my workplace, i heard of
several incidents where the alarm did not activate if any side window is
smashed - the exceptions being the windscreen and the rear window, but
can
you see the scum breaking those?!

i obviously had a censor re-positioned, which remains untested to date
and
hopefully never has to prove it's proficiency.

saw shards of glass in 2 different streets this morning. gordon&lower
scum was busy again last night,...
