Some time ago, there was a report in the Argus about OAR not cancelling debit orders from ex-subscribers. I recently had an alarm installed by ADT and can confidently say that the installation was first-class and they came in at R 3 000.00 less than Chubb. My system has 23 magnetic switches on all windows and doors, two pet-friendly passive infra red detectors and two panic buttons. This for about R 5 000.00 and a monthly subscription of about R 250.00 or so. I am happy with ADT and find them reliable. Granted, I no longer live in Obs, but the ADT officers in my area recognise me on sight and I can vouch for their service, here in the Deep South. During my tenure as OCA Chair, OAR attended very few safety and security meetings failed to attend when invited. I gained the impression that they did not take enough interest in the community. ADT has done a lot more for Obs than any other security company, in my opinion. As for CBAR, it was in the news recently, when two of the directors were accused of attempting to assassinate one of their fellow directors. My choice is obvious. Brian Gray.
