We switched from ADT to OAR about two years and never regretted it, at least so far. They upgraded our alarm system and we are very happy with it.
Their time response is great, when the alarm is activated they call within 5 seconds and they are efficient too (at least for our experience). Two weeks ago I was woken up at 4 am by a guy in the garden stealing my bicycle, I pressed the panic button, I promptly received a phone call from OAR, which actually recovered the bike literally 5 minutes later and brought it back to me. Certainly, it can be just a once off case, but as far as our experience is concerned, we haven't had any problems and we feel safe with them. Maybe they have improved since 2 years ago? We used to be with OAR, and I can honestly say they are a pathetic bunch of pretend security guards. They call themselves Observatory Armed Response - when we were last with them around 2 years ago, they were NOT armed , none of them, because no one had a gun license. ( We got told that by one of there own guys). We were with them for a few years. One day a guy rang our door bell, completely down and out, drunk and out of it asking us for money - turned out he was one of their guards AND the guy who had installed our alarm! - but he had gotten fired in the meantime. They never had a good response time. At some point we needed to hire a night guard for two weeks (we shared with a neighbour, there was cause for it), and they promised us the earth and said the guard will come at 7 pm. Turned out Sharon - their admin- control centre- fee collecting- girl for everything pitched up herself! She said the guard had not come in and she was going to sit outside all night herself! Needless to say I declined and sent her home. We hired a different company then. If you talk to their own guys they will tell you, that nothing is right in their company - DON'T trust them with your security. We certainly didn't anymore. I am very surprised they are still around, because they are not a proper security company. Oh, and they did try to tell me that I had signed up with them for 2 years with a 100 years automatic renewal, but pity for them they couldn't find the original sign up contract - which I had! and there was NO such clause. So they eventually gave up hassling me for fees. ( I never gave them a debit order, I never do, with no one) Sorry this is so long, but OAR just gets me started...
