Quite. In last conversation with OAR, on Friday, they said that OAR
had had a case against PSIRA, which had been decided in OAR's favour.
I've asked for evidence of this, and details, but it really seems very
muddy from all sides.
I'll give Mr Booysens a call too. There's no sign of an audit report
or other indication for why OAR is not registered.
In a sensible situation, you'd expect the registering authority to
have information to help clients and inform the public on their web-
site. It's not clear why they're wanting to launch a prosecution at
this stage - surely it would have made more sense to issue a notice to
quit, seize a copy of their customer database and write to their
customers. Are they expecting customers of OAR to discover what's
going on by some sort of psychic intuition?
As you say, the shambles seems pretty ubiquitous. My request for a
quote from ADT to take over the monitoring remains unanswered, so
maybe, if we finally discover what the situation actually is, it'll be
more customers for Chubb - though I'm beginning to wonder if things
will be any better there. It would clearly be foolish to do anything
until the situation is entirely clear.
