"The point is with M$ muddying the waters with its XAML"

I've thought for a long time that a more robust SVG++ would have been worthwhile.

You can understand the commercial realities for MS, but it constantly makes for  very murky waters for IT and ISVs.

I've conastnatly thoiught that just becoming a MS clone was not worthwhile, and as I suggested earlier Delphi had always been giving us things that MS wasn't offering at the same time in a developemtn environment, and so feel vindicated. But now it is as if with Delphi we are being hybridised and slowly cloned any way!

I still think that if Borland really worked on a good strategy on all fronts it could still harvest customer good will, though now latent with some people and harvest new parket share.

If I'm wroing, or Borland doiesn;t,  then I need to really look at mono and the likes, unless Lazarus really does get up and standing again!

Another option is the way Php is moving towards proper cross-platform visual widgets for even desktop programmes.

The point is with M$ muddying the waters with its XAML (to fight
mozilla) is addition to Win32, Win64, .NET, JRE, Ajax. If I was starting
a new project in the commercial areana as a rich fat client I think .NET
has the impetus, I'd put half my devs on Windows and half on Mono, The
Mono option may prevent M$ from pulling the plug on it once its served
its purpose (stymied Java), who knows what those pricks will do

And to dev .net you'd prob be best with c#, so by the time Kylix becomes
and option (with native cross platform dev) it will be irrelevant
