I started twitching weeks ago. I see a snv_137 has landed but no distro based on it. Really, we as a community should be rolling our own by now regardless.

If the Community wants to be certain of having a distribution that it has anything real control or say over, then this is the only way forward. Due to trademark conflicts, such a distribution may be required to have some name other than "OpenSolaris".
Absent communication from Oracle management, I don't think the community can make any assumptions about OpenSolaris, either 2010.03 or otherwise.
As a for-profit corporation, Oracle can be counted on to do what it deems is best for it and its shareholders. This will not always be compatible with the goals of the OpenSolaris community. Its important that the community understand this when deciding how to proceed.
