There are four parameters of a good open source project : 1) open : open for contributions 2) quality : high quality code and results 3) integrity : can be trusted and reliable 4) sustainable : is not subject to vanish over night I think that a few of those would be subject to question lately. I certainly see no statement of plan, public or otherwise, from the new Oracle management. I also see NO open communication. There is no shortage of fear and silence from the Oracle.com email owners on this list however. I have hardly ever been accused of being naive but it seems to me, based on my observations and private emails I have received, that fear was never a big problem with Sun but it certainly is now. -- Dennis Clarke dcla...@opensolaris.ca <- Email related to the open source Solaris dcla...@blastwave.org <- Email related to open source for Solaris _______________________________________________ ogb-discuss mailing list ogb-discuss@opensolaris.org http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/ogb-discuss
