I see also no openness for contributions. >From my perception, the OpenSolaris community is currently smaller than it was in 2005. It seems to be obvious why this happened: the expectations from the community regarding openness and possible influence in the project have not been redeemed. Given the fact that a vital community is the well of customers, It seems to be strange to see that Oracle currently ingnores the community (regarding the most important questions from the community). I expect Oracle to be interested to earn money from the aquisition of Sun and for the same reason, I expect that Oracle should be interested in a communication with the community. We are in a good situation for such a communication as we have an OGB that makes such a communication efficient. To be honest, I currently have no idea how we could enforce such a communication with Oracle without causing possible harm to the community. But as Oracle does not answer our questions, we also have plenty of time to think about the problem ;-) Jörg -- EMail:jo...@schily.isdn.cs.tu-berlin.de (home) Jörg Schilling D-13353 Berlin j...@cs.tu-berlin.de (uni) joerg.schill...@fokus.fraunhofer.de (work) Blog: http://schily.blogspot.com/ URL: http://cdrecord.berlios.de/private/ ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/schily _______________________________________________ ogb-discuss mailing list ogb-discuss@opensolaris.org http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/ogb-discuss
