| Under the D20STLG there are allowed uses of Wizard's trademarks for the
purposes of promoting the sale of PHBs (under specific wording and conditions, I know). I have noticed several places (products, websites) where mention is made that having a Dungeon Master's Guide and Monster Manual might also be of use to users/purchasers of a product. Sites and products using the d20 logo. Are these strictly legit? Shouldn't the D20STLG be modified to allow recommending the use/purchase of other core books? I know this could get out of hand but as long as these remain strictly "might be of use" or "we recommend the use of" type references, wouldn't it make sense to allow this? Maybe limit the number of recommended books mentioned? Finally, if these uses are not legit is this one of those situations (in list posters' personal, non-professional-capacity opinions) in which Wizards won't pursue violations unless they are egregious? I mention this because I think most d20 products so far are really targeted at DMs. BTW, I haven't really paid attention but it is okay to use DM in a d20 product right? -Alex Silva |
