I believe he said that as long as none of the terms are conflicted, it 
was appropriate.  So you have to follow BOTH the GPL and the OGL to the 
letter--which means that you need to have authoirty to contribute to 
both licneses, which makes GNU derivation problematic at least, unless 
I'm missing something here (which, not being a software developer or a 
lawyer, I probably am.)

One sticking point was that only source code could be distributed under 
the OGL--not the compiled code.  This, of course, is only Ryan's 
personal opinion--from what I remember of the conversation, it wasn't 
him acting as WotC's agent.  Then again, maybe it was.
