I agree, and while probably not the best thing to do in the short run I feel
that in the long run the fact that we scrapped two complete game systems in
favor of converting them to d20 for release is probably the best thing we
could have done.

You are inaccurate.

The OGL covers all the Open Game Content in all the d20 products too.

There are probably hundreds of pages of OGC by now, growing daily, all
interchangable, and all mutable at will.

It has become a tremendous design resource.
