Their point, I presume, is that they believe they have better game mechanics
for certain situations. And they could release those mechanics under the
OGL, and yet have nothing whatsoever to do with the SRD or d20. The sole
concern should be whether the OGL provisions serve their purposes or not.
The SRD should not be an issue in using the OGL.

I'm sorry, but I continue to miss your point. The OGL is a license, which
may be used with any sort of game (or potentially non-games). The SRD is a
set of game rules. I don't know how you can say the OGL is the SRD. The OGL
is simply a license for releasing open content; and Gold Rush could use it
for their open content, as long as it meets their legal goals.

Not to my knowledge, but I fail to see how that's relevant. Gold Rush could
be the first.

If they need a different license to address such issues, they should make
one. That's why I asked originally what issues might need addressing for
them. But so far, they have not answered; and the answers from others are
not in any way about the license itself, but about the SRD. The SRD is not
relevant to the use of the license.
