Yes, absolutely.  For unique creatures this is actually a big thing to ask
for, so I'd rather leave them out than ask for a bigger slice of the pie.

For simpler creatures like hobgoblins, gnomes, and kobolds a simple
description is actually giving up very little.  Two lines of text for each
critter would be an enormous improvement over the existing situation.  Ten
lines would only be marginally better than two.  If an author has a
different concept, they can always ignore the "default" description.
