I think you'll be hard pressed to show that the stats alone will be useful
to 3rd party developers - they will have to create their own illustrations
and text descriptions of those creatures to make a quality product.  They
are bright, creative folks, but I don't think they'll be very interested in
doing so.  More likely they'll use their creativity to give their critters
new names and stats, because the stats are the easy part.

The ONLY thing the stats will be good for is distributing around the net and
reducing the need for the MM, because most groups don't need 6 copies of the
MM, especially if they have a nice handy reference tool that they can get
for free.

You have repeatedly said that the whole point of the SRD is to sell PHBs
(and other core books).  If developers aren't going to use the SRD Monsters
for their own monsters, and they can't use the versions that players are
used to seeing, how does this particular material help sell the PHB?

Giving away free stuff that doesn't serve your own goals seems silly to me.
