We're thinking of just creating a "blank" center template, and allow publishers to do with it as they please. We'll let the "community decide what is appropriate for that center logo (if used.) >> The 100% Open worries me, Right, we have someone who was going to try to figure out a way of wording a [open gaming] license neutral way of saying that all "Gaming Material" must be Open, to use the 100% Open Text ---- but still allow things like copyright pages, forewords, designer notes, etc be closed/simple_copyright. >> The Open20, Free20 Logos look pretty good, and do not appear >> to be derivative of d20 logo, other than they both use the >> "20" part. 8-) Well.... WotC legal doesn't seem to think so. After Ryan's warning yesterday I asked WotC if they could issue me a "semi-official", non-committal type response/opinion about our Logos. I provided them with a link to the Logos (http://fga.ogexchange.com/articles/All_In_One_2.jpg) and here is a snippet I received in response from them: WotC Legal department unofficially states: >> After looking at their website, [WotC Legal] believes it would be >> confusingly similiar in the marketplace and [WotC] would probably >> object to the marks use, only because it has dice, it has the number >> 20 and it mentions fantasy and Roleplaying games. We (Free20 Group/Free Gaming Association) are trying to digest what exactly that means, and wither or not we want to proceed with those names & logos (Free20 and Open20). We will definitely proceed with the OpenDie/OpenBox logo, as we feel that there is no grounds for infringement/confusability there. If there is interest here, and if everyone agrees that it is "On Topic" I'll continue to post updates here. -- Mike _______________________________________________ Ogf-l mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.opengamingfoundation.org/mailman/listinfo/ogf-l
