That's clearly the fallacy in his argument. Demand for the good in question is not necessarily infinite. Lowering the cost of a compliment even all the way to $0 is not a guarantee that the basic good will increse sales volume (or total revenues). While true in many cases, at least within a certain set of limits, it's clearly not true in all cases.
