The article seems right-on to me! I can't tell you
how many times I've nearly been sideswiped in the '78
98 (bright blue!) and the '88 Town Car...by SUV's. If
you can't see cars THIS big, then you shouldn't be
driving. And I always make it a point to stay out of
others' blind spots. Worse is the headlights that
blind you. I end up adjusting the power mirrors on
the side to put it right back in their faces...one day
will probably get me killed by an aggressor.

I am amazed at the gas station to see how much these
people are paying...and taking too much gas for
themselves. But that's another topic. Funny that it
is (as article says) the environmentalist/tree-huggers
who mostly drive these things which is completely
opposite of their 'beliefs'.

Hopefully, the SUV will get low to the ground and be
safer/less heavy...like a station wagon. More and
more of the cross-overs look like wagons! Station
wagons had so much room and were comfy to drive, but
somehow they were deemed 'uncool'. I'm betting
they'll make a comeback.
