Absolutely the right thing was done. I'm very impressed with our United Way
for making what must have been a difficult decision. The United Way has to
hold their recipients to certain standards, and if these groups don't want
to abide by them, then they should not receive their money.
Overall the Boy Scouts are a wonderful group, however they do discriminate
on the basis of sexual orientation and religion. We've struggled with
wanting our son to have a scouting experience, but feel such discrimination
goes against our family values and is not something we want to have taught
to him.
