[Winona Online Democracy]

After reading the many replies to the question of whether the United Way was
right to exclude the Boy Scouts from funding. I am amazed that some have
gone so far as to call the boy scouts immoral for having high moral
standards for their scouts and leaders.
Maybe some of these people should talk to their ministers and ask what the
churches stance is on homosexuality. The last time I checked it was
considered a sin in every faith that I know of. To me that would make it an
immoral lifestyle. As for me I personally don't care what they do in the
privacy of their own home, that's their business. Just don't tell me that I
have to change my beliefs to match theirs. Don't get me wrong I'm not trying
to set myself up as some kind of a saint because I'm not, but I also don't
expect every one to conform their beliefs to fit mine when I do something
wrong.
Maybe the boy scouts are more concerned with doing the right thing than they
are with being politically correct. Let's give them credit for trying to
instill high moral and ethical standards in their members. I was always
taught that these were supposed to be desireable qualities.
