[Winona Online Democracy]
Hey everybody,
I was just wondering; where do the Girl Scouts stand in all of this? Do
they ban homosexual leaders?
I can't speak for the Boy Scouts, but I know that whrn I was in Girl Scouts
(3 years or so) I was never awarded any badges, only the birthday ones,
paticipating in cookie selling, e.t.c,
and I must say that it did make me feel pretty bad not getting any badges,
and well, as nice as the leaders were, we did'nt learn and morals or
anything in my opinion, and one time I went to a boy scouts meeting (I cant
remember why, to pick somone up I think)
but I didnt really see anything like that going on, it was juwst a bunch of
boys goofing off, and hanging out.
I mean, in girl scouts we would do arts and crafts, but I personaly feel
that scouting was a waste of time (and self-esteem) and I learned nore
noral, and not to discriminate, for ny family and teachers. I think that
Scouts should be more teeaching children good values, morals, etc and not
just rewarding SOME of the children for doing this or that, I personaly
think it makes the other kids feel inferior, or not as accomlpised or
something.
I hope this makes sense, if anybody thinks I am wrong, please tell me.
Sarah (Karens not here, were both sick and I thought I'd just write an
E-mail)
have a nice day.......
