[Winona Online Democracy]

The numbers are in ---

During the period from 1990-91 to the contract year 2000-01 the BA 15
starting compensation in WAPS (861) at Step 0 and moving to Step 8 (the max
on the grid) increased 56.0 %, TRA decreased 4.1 % do to the state and
Family insurance increased 156.9 %. A step is one year's experience. The
total for all items excluding TRA was an increase of 64.5 % for the ten
year period. The CPI index for the same period from two web sources was
31.75 % or 33.93 %.

Many, thanks to the Business Office for providing the facts from the
contracts.

The figures used do not include lane changes (more education) or lump sum
signing payments often paid when the Steps end and which may or may not be
applicable. Most teachers over a ten year period should have also have
received lane changes because of their continuning education. In most cases
lane changes are done in 15 unit jumps. Thus a BA 15 next move should be
to a BA 30
