We'll need to bring this up with Apache branding. The "Apache Project Branding Requirements" are listed here:
http://www.apache.org/foundation/marks/pmcs.html#naming The requirement is for the product to be called "Apache Foo", such as "Apache OpenOffice.org" or (my preference) "Apache OpenOffice". I don't see anything here that says a Podling has authority to ignore these requirements. But the place to check would be with Apache Branding. -Rob On Sat, Jul 9, 2011 at 12:35 PM, Ian Lynch <[email protected]> wrote: > On 9 July 2011 17:05, eric b <[email protected]> wrote: > >> Hi, >> >> Le 9 juil. 11 à 14:24, Peter Junge a écrit : >> >> >>> As to the differentiation of OpenOffice.org and Apache OpenOffice.org, I >>> would propose to use the latter for the project and the community now, but >>> keeping the former for the branding of the product. >>> >> >> >> Thanks Peter, that"s a very good summary, and a good compromise in my >> opinion. >> >> >> +1 from me too >> >> > +1 .
