I am not opposed to adding an identifying prefix to the subject line of
list messages.

However, for my own purposes, Gmail has identified a list header and
suggested that I use it to auto-label list messages as they come in; I find
that this works perfectly, though I am not familiar with other mail
clients' ability to filter on this particular header. Anyone else?

The header, as listed in the raw email, is the following:
