If you happen to have a 4000 on you and you have a cable, please go
right ahead. Otherwise, there are minimum levels of what I want to
find out. I'm sure you can install it. Does it let you create a
project that targets the 3S4000? Given some trivial design, can you
synthesize it? Ultimately, can you create a bitfile for it?
Support for the 4000 could be broken at any number of different
levels. For instance, it may let you select the part and run the
synthesizer, but the P&R tool might refuse.
Ok, thanks for the clarification. I'm moving this weekend, but I'll
see if I can find the time to try this out. I have longhorn and
cedega (winex), so I'll try installing and running under those
environments.
