I'll try to write one for the 7442 though.
Yes we do - and for two reasons: Test cases are essential for any verilog/VHDL project and make the difference between amateur code that works sometimes and code of a more professional standard. By writing simple code for these 74 series we prepare those who show a little initiative now to be able to develop the skills to consider trying to assist with the harder stuff. The second is that we are releasing to the world a new and open library that creates a crack in the dam of developer lock - in by the Hardware Vendors. We dont want this library to mostly work. - We want it to be the preferred library. The library of choice. The beauty of this simple work, is that anyone reading this work on the list, can take part and have their name attached to this code. Timothy has said in the past that we want to cultivate a culture where those writing tests - and those who find mistakes are just as valuable as those writing the initial code. snip > Mike > www.wacco.mveas.com - Project VGA > jb ps: History has shown that other open projects have allowed developers to distinguish themselves and even to get jobs. Eventually people wanting developers may look on this list or in our code for names to hire. Imagine saying to a prospective employer - you are already using my code. Possible? Just maybe... _______________________________________________ Open-graphics mailing list [email protected] http://lists.duskglow.com/mailman/listinfo/open-graphics List service provided by Duskglow Consulting, LLC (www.duskglow.com)
