For the driver, I installed the JDBC driver for Microsoft SQL 2000
that I got from MS's site. Are you saying this isn't the best option?

Everything's relative of course. I haven't used SQL 2000 in quite a while, but I had nothing but problems with the MS drivers and drivers that came with CF (whatever version was current at the time), which is when I first started using jTDS. In my experience it was faster and a lot more stable.

That I should instead use the already existing jTDS driver? Do I still
need to install any drivers if I use jTDS?

Nope, everything you need to use jTDS is already rolled into OpenBD.

Regarding the MS Drivers, I installed them and located
(mssqlserver.jar, msbase.jar, and msutil.jar) and copied them to c:/
openbd/lib/

I think you need to put them in lib/openbd (which if I'm understanding in your case would be C:\openbd\lib\openbd) in the ready2run version.
