Hmmmm. That is strange. Using mixed.. The username I am providing is specifically for that database, successfully used to authenticate ODBC using SQL authentication.
I checked SQL Server Network properties, and TCP/IP is enabled for DB01, and 1433 is set as default port. But I can't even telnet to it from the local machine. Does ODBC use 1433? Because ODBC is working fine. Either that or it(ODBC) is using netbios and tcp/ip at all, which is why it works. from DB01 c:\telnet localhost 1433 "Could not open connection to host, on port 1433" ................ googling............... --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Open BlueDragon Public Mailing List http://groups.google.com/group/openbd?hl=en official site @ http://www.openbluedragon.org/ !! save a network - trim replies before posting !! -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
