Hi Ben, Thank you *very* much for the feedback. I'm thinking this is similar to a JVM issue I *thought* I had resolved but it appears as though I don't have it resolved in all cases. Basically the JVM isn't set properly in the Tomcat service in all cases. I will probably have to resort to registry edits. Boo. I hate registry edits, but Windows forces you in cases like this. The file it's looking for is probably the jvm.dll in the Tomcat service control, which I can force via a registry edit.
Again, I *really* appreciate your input. Thank you. -Jordan ----- Original Message ----- From: "Benjamin Davis" <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Saturday, March 31, 2012 2:16:24 AM Subject: Re: [OpenBD] OpenBD 2.0.2 Windows Installer I did try running the installer as an admin, but that didn't change anything. I have not tried to re-register the service through the command prompt yet. On Mar 31, 2012 3:12 AM, "Benjamin Davis" < [email protected] > wrote: It looks like this is probably a 64bit issue. I ran the installer on Windows XP and everything went great. I realized as I was looking at the Service Control in XP that all of the options were filled in, but in Windows 7 they weren't. It looks to be an issue with the service setup. I copied everything from XP to 7 and was able to get it to start. It wouldn't server cfm files, but jsp came through, so there seems to still be something else missing. :) On Sat, Mar 31, 2012 at 1:53 AM, Benjamin Davis < [email protected] > wrote: Well, good news and bad news. Bad news, the service isn't working. I'm running on Windows 7 64bit. Went through and uninstalled my previous version of OpenBD and BonCode. Made sure all directories were removed. Run new installer. (Note: Make sure to disable virus scanner software or BonCode could fail). Installer throws a fit that OpenBD couldn't start. Opened Service Contorl. Same thing, won't start. Checked Logging tab. Nothing was setup. Hmm... Setup file location and names. Only file with something helpful is commons-daemon. Here is what it has: [2012-03-31 01:44:28] [info] Commons Daemon procrun (1.0.5.0 64-bit) started [2012-03-31 01:44:28] [info] Running 'OpenBD' Service... If I go into C:\openbd\tomcat\bin and run the startup.bat file, Tomcat starts just fine and everything else works! BonCode is working. Mod_CFML is working. Everything else is peachy! I'll keep digging some more while I can. Thanks! On Fri, Mar 30, 2012 at 9:18 PM, Benjamin Davis < [email protected] > wrote: Yay! Excited! Excited!! I've tested extensively and everything appears to be in order, but please let me know if you run into anything show-stopping.
