Well, it looks like I might have raised a red flag that didn't need to be raised. :) I just created a new Windows 7 64-bit VM and ran the installer. Everything went as smooth as butter. Service was created correctly and ran without a hitch..... I guess my machine is wacked somehow. :) This will be fun figuring this one out!
