Thank you, gentlemen, for the fantastic feedback! This is truly awesome to be getting such help and interest from the community. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate it. =D

John, and anyone else looking to help debug any issues that come up, there is an install.log file that is created in the directory that you install OpenBD into. This contains the output of the installer and all the scripts and services that the installer uses to "do it's thing". If you still have that file, please zip it and send it to me directly at "[email protected]", or post it on GitHub where I've been keeping track of problems:

https://github.com/utdream/CFML-Installers/issues

The install.log file will provide me with the most valuable debugging information, as it usually tells me what error occurred.

I will post some updates and fixes (start menu link, registry edit, script update, etc) that should address most (if not all) the issues that have been brought up so far.

Again, I cannot express how much I appreciate the interest and feedback. Thank you!

Warm Regards,
Jordan Michaels

Jordan,

I thought i would try to uninstall, then re-install on Windows 7 64bit
and I got this error :

"Unknown error executing action"

the installer is at this step: Installing > Starting OpenBD-Tomcat service.

The change i made between installations was the port number. Initially I
set it to 8080 then on the reinstall i left it as the default : 888

Screenshot is attached.

Hi Jordan, It worked fine for me on Windows 7 64bit (Home Premium
with Service Pack 1). I made one change during the setup and chose
8080 instead of 8888 for the tomcat administrator port.

    http://localhost:8080/index.cfm

Did I accidently pick the same port as the OpenBD administrator or
does this one port serve both it and the Tomcat admin site ?

All looks good though. Thanks heaps !

The OpenBD 2.0.2 Windows Installer is now available in BETA at
        the following URL:

        http://openbd.viviotech.net/

        Features:
        - Runs on the latest JRE
        - Runs the latest version of Tomcat 7
        - Includes the BonCode Connector for easier IIS configuration
        - Includes pre-configured mod_cfml so you don't have to
configure Tomcat if you don't want to (although you still can if
you want to make initial responses faster)
        - Includes a customised home page to better help you get started
        and access openbd resources.

I've tested extensively and everything appears to be in order,
but please let me know if you run into anything show-stopping.

Thanks and have a great weekend!
