Hello Suhaib, I had Cygwin1.1.2 from June 27 with snapshots and maybe not the most recent Xfree binaries. As you told me to try Cygwin1.1.3 for improved performance, I prefered to remove my old installation and rebuild it from new setup.exe rather than adding new snapshots. Maybe long, but very simple. I just wanted to start working with the most up-to-date Cygwin and Xfree installations. This is the only reason why I changed my environment and be sure that I don't want to change it again as finally I got one which seems to work fine. My previous mail was just an info : * Executing "tar zxvf" on my OpenDX package from July 21 puts 2 dll's in /usr/local/dx/samples/user and 17 dll's in /usr/local/dx/bin but NOT "libpng.dll". Should not it be there ? I checked again the OpenDX gziped tar file and here is the dll's list : usr/local/dx/bin/libdps.dll usr/local/dx/bin/libdpstk.dll usr/local/dx/bin/libGL.dll usr/local/dx/bin/libICE.dll usr/local/dx/bin/libPEX5.dll usr/local/dx/bin/libpsres.dll usr/local/dx/bin/LIBR_HDF.dll usr/local/dx/bin/LIBR_JPEG.dll usr/local/dx/bin/LIBR_ZLIB.dll usr/local/dx/bin/libSM.dll usr/local/dx/bin/libX11.dll usr/local/dx/bin/libXext.dll usr/local/dx/bin/libXIE.dll usr/local/dx/bin/libXp.dll usr/local/dx/bin/libXpm.dll usr/local/dx/bin/libXtst.dll usr/local/dx/bin/libz.dll usr/local/dx/samples/user/hello.dll usr/local/dx/samples/user/loadablelib.dll * The only "libpng.dll" that I had ever got came with Cygwin1.1.2 or Cygwin1.1.4 installation. The new setup.exe from August 6 installed Cygwin1.1.4 with libpng-1.0.8-1 but I had to re-install the old Cygwin libpng-1.0.6-1 in order to keep OpenDX working. *Note : the Cygwin1.1.4 "libz.dll" is now working with OpenDX. Otherwise, everything is working fine (except Win98) and OpenDX is really great.
