No, I output a series of .tiff files, then <open image sequence> from QT
and then export as a movie.
It' s really simple and straight-forward... just be carefull to use the
correct numbering for the tiff's i.e. to prepend zeros to the frame
number so that alpahbetical ordering and frame-numer ordering are
consistent:

this is good
movie01.tiff
