I'd say this is blatantly false. IE may have the majority, but it is doubtful if it is more than 65%. IE runs only on a single platform, and this platform makes nowhere near 90% of users having access to the web.


Statistics from my own web sites are certainly a bit biased towards FOSS, but even a software independent project such as http://www.drugref.org which is drug data collection only shows that IE struggles to make 50% of visitors.

I must admit people keep bandying this 90%+ figure around, but on the Deep Thought and Ocean websites it is more like 65/35.
I just upgraded to a new machine (XP), and installed the latest Mozilla; I only used IE once and stopped. I like Mozilla web and mail browsing better.
