Hi, Taking this opportunity to share the joy of having such a wonderful tool at hand and expressing my gratitude to the developers :)

Sorry, but I really am just > a user of this tool. What i can say is that i'm a rather happy user of OpenOCD. Creating the config was trivial addition of the following two lines: source [find interface/arm-usb-ocd.cfg] source [find target/stm32.cfg] OpenOCD helped me and my colleages _immensely_ during the last two years and we had a chance to compare gdb+OpenOCD+Eclipse with other tools (uVision and similar shit) and that clearly showed that OpenOCD has an unmatched flexibility and the featureset (of course gdb's superiority played its role too). Having FreeRTOS-awareness support is a great timesaver too. > Fortunately I haven't had to rely on OpenOCD and so far just tested it > and more or less decided "oh well I'll just debug my target using > printf". (*) I am not really spoiled by various debugging aids and i agree "traditional" ways of debugging are usually "good enough" but i remember thinking something along the lines "oh my, i'm so lucky to have JTAG for debugging, it'd be nearly impossible to find this bug without it" quite a few times already. So i suggest you reconsider :) Happy hacking! -- Be free, use free (http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/free-sw.html) software! mailto:[email protected] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Live Security Virtual Conference Exclusive live event will cover all the ways today's security and threat landscape has changed and how IT managers can respond.
