Hi!

We're doing a release - AGAIN (; Please post links to patches in gerrit
that you think are ready for submission, so that the community could
focus on reviewing them. I'll also try to prepare a list myself.

There will be nothing spectacular in this new release, but I think it
would be really good if OpenOCD would have a more frequent release
schedule, like twice a year (;

The plan is the same as usual but with increased security this time -
when we'll be ready a RC1 is tagged and tested for some time - if bugs
are found patches for them are merged and the RC phase is repeated. If
no bugs are found RC is declared stable, and the only patches that can
be merged are trivia like updates to NEWS or maybe small upgrade of
documentation. All merges to master will be delayed from the moment of
first RC till the stable release. To reiterate - no new feature will be
merged to 0.7.0 and it's RCs after first RC is tagged - only bugfixes
and regression fixes - let's say that OpenOCD will be doing a feature
freeze this time, so the 0.6.0/0.6.1 and 0.3.0/0.3.1 situation won't
happen again. First RC may very well be the only one and that would be
very nice (;

It would also be nice if we could do some more structured tests of the
RC this time. Each of us has some different adapters and different
targets, so it would be nice if we could create a matrix/list with info
that a combination was tested and works fine (or no worse than
previously). No heavy testing - just try to flash the chip (possibly
more than once in single OpenOCD session), resetting, halting, resuming,
memory access, maybe debugging with GDB. A subset of the tests will also
be valuable.

To start with this testing stuff, I have:
1. Adapters:
- FT2232D based USB 1.0
- FT232H based USB 2.0
- ST-LINK V1 from STM32VLDISCOVERY
- ST-LINK V2 from other DISCOVERY boards
2. Targets:
- LPC2103
- LPC1769
- LPC4330 (don't know for how long)
- STM32F1 (standalone and on DISCOVERY board with ST-LINK V1)
- STM32F3, F4, F0, L on DISCOVERY boards with ST-LINK V2
- Lattice CPLD to test SVF programming
- EFM32 board with (probably) embedded J-Link
- Freescale Freedom board, but that has only OpenSDA debugger and I
don't know whether you can connect sth "normal"

So - let's go (;

4\/3!!
