The point he was trying to make is, that one _may_ need (or want to
stick to) the "native" FTDI drivers. This may be because one wants to
use the other channel as a normal UART (speak use the virtual com port)
or some other closed source tools or there may even be no possibility to
install libftdi drivers to the machines (due to firm policies) and one
_must_ stick to the FTDI drivers.

That's how the situation is with our lab PCs at the university.
