Hello Gerrit,

I just activated the shadow stage again and would like to report one
observation I do not quite understand. I have uploaded a zip with two
pngs showing the effect to:

http://www.sendspace.com/file/jg66pe

I have produced these two images in an OpenSG only window without
passive background. I have pulled the changes at Wednesday from the git
repository.

What is the cause for the grey haze covering the object if shadows are
enabled. (It looks like the clouds found on the outer giant planets.:-)
The intensity of the haze is dependent on the shadow intensity value.

In the scene are two directional like sources. The first one is a camera
light source not casting any shadows. The second, shadow casting light
source points down the scene.

The transparent plane is big and at the bottom of the bounding box.

Do you have an explanation for the effect?

Best,
Johannes
