I consider myself a very experienced Linux user, and I believe most in our side 
of the fence will take a strong exception to this over-generalized statement.  
(Unless you specifically exclude GUI from UI.)

K3b, which is a front-end of cdrecord, is now almost ubiquitously included in 
essentially every Linux distro.  Many consider K3b as setting an example of how 
a consumer-oriented utility program should behave like.  Of course, the 
technical superiority of cdrecord is something we (the K3b users) have all 
taken for granted.
