No, I did not mean that. The question was "How could communtiy OpenSolaris distros
function without needed system libraries being present ?". So I pointed out that libCrun
is not a system library, but a compiler specific runtime which is not necessary for the base
   OS to function.

If I did understand things correctly, then Sun likes that java is redistributed by OpenSolaris distributions. If I remember correctly, java needs libC.

Isn't the conclusion from this that java cannot be distributed in a way that
makes it usable?

Java cannot be distributed in a way that makes it executable in the LiveCD environment.
That is why BeleniX just includes the JDK install bundle on the LiveCD.

It therefore   * v i o l a t e s *   its own DLJ legal terms !!
That is exactly the reason why I am so upset since the DLJ launch in mid May:

8. What are my obligations under this license?

Ship only a compatible JDK on your OS. If notified of an incompatibility, you must correct it and offer a patch or replacement to downstream recipients within 90 days, or stop shipment and notify downstream recipients.

Really stupid somehow.
And so superfluous.
Don't we have more important things to do?

Maybe it is not a conspiracy.
But a crappy thing.
A thing, that doesn't deserve SUNW's name.

And SUNW pays for it, in a dual manner!
{since #0.) not everyone works for free, especially not legal staff [...], and #1.) What will the world think of such a mismanagement}

I'm happy to see the ML-public finally realizing, what kind of nonsense is going on in that aspect.
One could think it happens in preparation to Mad Hatter, but that's EOL.
Or maybe Haloween?
Cannot be, because this very mess started back in May.
